I’ve decided to not spam posts when I get new stuff for the collection, and group it all into posts of 5. You’re welcome!

Backwards compatible PS3 is the crown jewel here

Got an awesome haul here!

Backwards Compatible Launch 60GB PlayStation 3 – I am SO GLAD I finally found one of these! I’m not a huge PlayStation fan beyond the PS1, which I absolutely adore, but there is some gems I missed or want to replay, and now I can do it over HDMI without wanting to rip my eyes out or mess with emulation (not that there’s anything wrong with that)!

PlayStation 3 Dual Shock 3 – Sony kept the same tried and true controller design throughout three generations, and I’m sure people out there love this controller, but the triggers feel like I’m squishing my fingers into mashed potatoes. Also, the weird Six Axis stuff seemed pretty pointless. Either way, this is the controller, and the PS3 didn’t come with an official controller, so I picked one up used and cleaned whoever’s gunk off of it.

Oddworld: Abe’s Exoddus – I love Oddworld so much, and I’m so glad they are back in business. I’m very excited for SoulStorm, but until now, I now again own the source material. I feel like I know more people that have played this than Oddysee.

Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore – Back when the Dreamcast was a thing, I was a staunch supporter and ardent fan of Sega. DOA2 was a game that really showed the power of the Dreamcast, and I was annoyed the PS2 suddenly had one of the top show ponies. I had this in my collection before, and aside from better frame rate, it sucks pretty bad compared to the Dreamcast version. The graphics are jagged, English voiceovers are horrid, and it just feels…wrong. Either way, both versions are a little odd to play now that gaming has moved beyond bouncing anime boob physics.

God of War Collection – The first God of War was a favorite of mine on PS2. I love the greek mythology setting, and the brutality of the combat, so I figured it would be a great PS3 purchase (wanted to get a game for each console for testing). I never played 2, so this should work out well.
